LOVE convinced Afro Moses to be naturalised during Newcastle's Australia Day celebrations.

"I love Australia, it is one of the best countries in my heart," he said.

"I love my wife, who comes from Newcastle, and I love my baby, who was born in Newcastle."

Afro Moses is a professional singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and music teacher who was raised in Ghana, west Africa, and lived for many years in Denmark.

Moses and wife Katja Baidoo met on Australia Day 2000.

The couple live in Hamilton North and their daughter Malaika was born in Newcastle in April last year.
